Got the car in 2000 off my parents that bought it in 1986 which it looked like a paint peeling mess and an engine on the verg of blowing up any day. Finally the engine blew in 2002. And that started the rebuild of the car from there. Unfornaly I was 18 and didnt know much at the time about mechanics so I put a rebuilt 3.8L back into it. Then I got a standered 300 dollar Macco paint job on it and satisfied me for a year till I could save money for a real paint job. Then fall of 2003 found and bought a 3" cowl hood and painted it back as close as factoy med metalic canyon red as I could and painted the fading grey bumped down black. Now at least it looked like a HO V8, next to make it sound like that..... then came H frame 2.5 inch duel exhaust with flow masters, the pro serise, and two high flow cats. Now it sounds like a V8! Now came my quest to get it up to par with HP. Then winter 2003 I rebuilt my transmistion with a heavy duty torge converter, much better than stock but not a stall speed, and a shift kit. Then adjusted my timing 5degrees, K&N air filter and also X-strem series top for additional air flow coming through the top of the air cleaner with the tornato that goes in the air intake, HO coil, 1.8 rockerarms ( biggest I can find and get ), air flow senser so my computer always thinks its 34 degrees out side letting max air and fuel in, and finally a new presure regulator. Also just put on the 94-97 mustang 3.8L headers, it was alot of work and money but well worth it, in addtion to that found bigger CFI fuel injectors, just put on a MSD 6a igntion system, and built my own throttle body spacer. Then went out and got a mustang 8.8" 3.55 possi rear and then pulled my 2.73 7.5" rear. Luckly my parnet always keeped it gradged and still is and also have every oil changing paper - oringal recipts and paper work on it from the dealer! Car runs 16.3 seconds in the 1/4 mile at 83MPH
